Hello! I’m Camille, a painter based in Lyon, France.

I create colorful and expressive female portraits using oil paint and watercolor.

A Few Words About Me…

Born in 1994, I grew up near Paris. Deeply introverted yet endlessly creative at heart, I have always been passionate about many things — drawing, Japan, history — and I carry a thousand imaginary worlds within me. Still, I chose a more rational path at first, pursuing scientific studies in agronomy in Lyon.

After traveling around Japan (my country of 💖) and working in Paris for several years, I have been living in Lyon since 2022, where I now work in the renewable energy sector. Yet my creative passions have never left me…

Agronomist by Day, Artist by Night

I have always loved creating stories and alternative worlds. My first love is writing: alongside painting, I am also a novelist currently working on a historical thriller that will come to life in the coming years. Since 2026, I have officially been working as a professional artist-painter.

Specialized in oil painting and watercolor, I mainly dedicate my work to portraiture, with an approach centered on emotion, contrast, and inner worlds.

My Journey & Artistic Approach

Self-taught, I learned through my own exploration and practice.

My artistic journey began in my teenage years, shaped by the worlds of manga and comics. In 2020, I took my first step into painting, driven by the desire to explore a more realistic and vibrant style. At first, I painted to bring the worlds I was writing to life. Over time, my artistic voice evolved into expressive, colorful portraiture.

Today, my work revolves mainly around portrait painting. My canvases are inspired at times by my novels, a photograph, or a fleeting pose I wish to preserve, and at other times by an intense emotion seeking release onto the canvas.

My style moves between realism and illustration, deeply influenced by my early love for manga. My universe draws from my attachment to Japan, travel, and history, reimagining female figures from different eras and cultures. I enjoy exploring contrasts, textures, and revealing emotion through faces.

My paintings revolve around themes that are especially dear to me: dreams, emotion, and identity.

Above all, I paint to tell stories. Each of my portraits carries a narrative. Their faces, colors, contrasts, and textures become a language of their own, revealing what brought them to this canvas — a suspended moment where they appear beneath a new skin…
